This tour will introduce you to the French history of the XVII and XVIII centuries. During this period France was at its apogee as the French kings were the most powerful European monarchs. You will learn about the Sun-King Louis the XIV and the guillotined queen Marie-Antoinette, hear the stories about the French Revolution and absolute monarchy, and discover the French gardens and the Hall of Mirrors. After visiting the palace with miraculous King’s Grand Apartments and the breath-taking Hall of Mirrors, we will take a short walk to the most beautiful parts of the Versailles gardens. Versailles is located 20 km west of Paris, a short trip by the suburb train RER. After the tour you are welcome to stay in Versailles to explore the rest of the royal domain on your own.
