Tetouan is one of the most interesting towns in the north of Morocco. It is surrounded by high mountains. At the foot of Djbel(mount) Dersa, dominating the vally of Oued Martil. Sultan Youssef Ibn Yakoub buit the first casba between 13th and 14th century. In 1400 Tetouan was destroyed by the Spanish. Since 1997 it was named as a World Heritage by the UNESCO. During the walking visit inside the Medina, you will discover its 17 white mosques, its pituresque souks, its narrow streets crowned by arches and its small shops. In the northern end of the Medina is located the royal palace built in the 17 century and restored in 1948.
