Aperçu

Along the way to Koh Ker we will stop at Beng Mealea temple. This Hindy temple has been left to the elements and the jungle has taken over. There are trees growing through the structure and it resembles Angkor Wat in design. Therefore, it was thought have been built by King Suryavarman II who built Angkor Wat. After exploring Beng Mealea, we’ll stop for lunch in a local restaurant where you can sample some of the local Khmer cuisine. We’ll then continue the tour to Koh Ker temple. The Koh Ker complex consists of more than 50 known structures. Many of which still lay in ruins. Only around 12 temples are accessible to tourists and the biggest one is called Prasat Thom. This seven-tiered temple is likely to have been the pinnacle of the capital city built by King Jayavarman IV. After exploring the temples at Koh Ker, we’ll start the drive back to Siem Reap town. The drive is a few hours and you can sit back and relax watching the Cambodian countryside roll by. When we reach Siem Reap town we will drop you back to your hotel.
