The Coast

Further down the coast, the Côte Vermeille and schist cliffs, which are covered with terraced vineyards, incite the exploration of its land and villages nestled in the rocks of which a good example is Collioure. This former fishing town and royal residence was the inspiration of the Fauvist movement initiated by Matisse and Derain.
