Hi, my name is Ann, and I am offering You the 6h Medieval Porvoo trip in English. The tour is a combination of using a comfortable private vehicle and walking. It is just so much nicer to visit a new place on your journey with a knowledgeable and friendly local, do you agree?! So why be all on your own?!
During this tour, we will visit the historical center of the « old », medieval Porvoo, walk along the ancient streets, and enjoy the atmosphere of « Swedish » Finland with its wooden architecture, which you will not find in Helsinki. We will feel the idyll of a small town, in which so many artists and creative people live and work. We will visit small atmospheric boutiques of local craftsmen. After we have been nourished with spiritual food, we will go by our private vehicle (car/minivan/minibus – depending on the size of our group) to the « new » town, where we will have lunch in the traditions of Finnish cuisine.
Then we’ll visit the store from the local chocolate factory Brunberg. This factory is the oldest chocolate factory in Finland, being around 150 years old! Good old traditions are still maintained in production, and some types of sweets are still molded by hand. Delicacies from Brunberg must be tasted when visiting Porvoo! At the end of our interesting trip, let’s drop in a flea market – the local secondhand. In Finland, the culture of recycling, using old things for a new purpose, is very common. It’s fashionable and respectful! Let’s dive into this culture!
I am a licensed Helsinki guide and I have conducted various tours for quite a while. My guiding style is « educational and entertaining », meaning that you will have loads of facts presented in an easy, fun, and friendly manner. I am knowledgeable in various fields, but my tours are not boring history lessons. Instead, we will have a lively narrative and discussion, and I promise you: YOU will WANT to know more!
This tour is suitable for individuals, families, friends, and smaller and larger groups. It is an easy and fun tour. In any case, I can ensure you that you will have great memories when you get back home!
The vehicle is NOT included in the price of the tour. Depending on the size of our group, we will rent a car, a minivan, or a minibus with a driver. The rental price will vary from 500€ to 700€ / for 6 hours. Payment to the transport company – on the spot.
Lunch and any possible purchases are also NOT included in the price of the tour.
