We start our tour on the Fourvière hill where Lugdunum was founded as a Gallo-Roman town in 43 BC. After exploring the Odeon and the theater excavated in the 20th century, we take a short walk to a magnificent uninterrupted view of the city and visit the 19th-century jewel basilica dedicated to Mary. We then walk to the bottom of the hill where the Renaissance Old Lyon sprawls along the Saône river. We explore “traboules” and wonderfully restored Renaissance monuments.
