What you will experience – This tour along the Lost River, is designed to give you a complete immersion of both the history and gastronomy of the Latin Quarter.

Tour Description

Following a natural waterway in the heart of Paris, you will taste delicious food and discover the city’s treasures! The river that once flowed in Paris, La Bièvre, existed until the beginning of the 20th century, and was later on transformed into a colourful gourmet market-street boarded by restaurants, bars, shops with French cheese specialty and wineries. Hemingway, lived in the area, just a stone’s throw from the historical market-street rue Mouffetard. You will taste generous cheese samples paired with wine, yummy pasty and mouthwatering cakes. You will learn about French cuisine, cheese, wine, pastry and the history of the monuments you pass by.

Meeting Point

The tour starts in the Saint-Médard Square area (Metro station Censier-Daubenton, Line 7), and will follow the Lost River. The exact meeting point and other details for this tour along the Lost River, will be provided upon booking.

The tour ends close to Quai de Montebello, Petit Pont, a stone’s throw from Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, in the heart of  Paris. The tour ends, with the dead arm course of the Lost River.

  • Our tours are organised in small groups of 8 people and has a flexible duration, between 3 and 4 hours participants).
  • This gastronomic experience is designed to enjoy the local culinary traditions and therefore our tours have no dietary restrictions.
  • Please let us know in writing if you have any allergies. In case you failed to notify us, please inform the guide at the start of the tour.
  • Note that the itinerary and tastings described are subject to change, may vary depending on season, venue availability, day of the week, group size and other circumstances.
  • Being a 3/4 hour walking tour, we do not recommend it for small children and pregnant women. However, Infants (0-5) years old can join the tour for free.
  • For the tour in other foreign languages, please contact us at least 3 days in advance. Minimum 5 participants.
  • For private tours, please send us a request via e-mail in advance.
  • Check the calendar to see the availability of our food tours according to your interest, and book online with confidence and instant confirmation. The payment is secured by a third party. 
  • The group run with minimum 4 people.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY

100% refund for cancellation at least 24 hours in advance (Paris time). No refunds will be given for customers who cancel with less than 24 hours notice (Paris time), or arrive late (and are therefore unable to join the group), or don’t show up at all (no-show). 

• 100% risk-free refund, if you cancel the Paris Private Food Tour, 5 days before the tour start date (the local time). 

• For tourists who book tours for the day of their arrival in Paris, please be aware that we do not offer refunds in case of delayed flights or trains, as this is not our fault and happens quite often.

Our tours run rain or shine. However, in case of heavy rains, we reserve the right to cancel the tour with 100% refund or we can reschedule it for you, if you wish. Please, check the forecast the day before the tour, and bring an umbrella with you, just in case. 

The company reserves the right to cancel any tour, for objective reasons, with a full refund, within a maximum of 3 days from the cancellation of the tour.

WHEN DURING MY VISIT TO PARIS SHOULD I TAKE A FOOD TOUR?
We recommend taking a food tour at the beginning of your visit to Paris. This will allow you to get used to the city and come back if you want to explore more a certain area. The guides will give you recommendations to avoid the "tourist traps".
LATE ARRIVALS AND NO-SHOWS:
Late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable. This applies to all our tours. Any participant who does not make it to the tour or arrives after the tour has departed, is not refunded.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY PLANS OR IT RAINS?
We do not issue refunds if you have changed your plans. Cancellations are made in accordance with our terms and conditions. We also inform you that our tours run with a minimum of 4 people. Although the weather is unpredictable in Paris, our tours run rain or shine! However, we reserve the right to cancel the tour if we deem the weather to be extreme. Please check our Terms and Conditions for more information.
CAN I PAY THE TOUR IN CASH?
No, we do not accept cash payments. You have to book directly on our website. Our online payment is safe and secured by a third partie.
THE A TOUR IS FULLY BOOKED. IS THERE A WAY I CAN ATTEND THE TOUR?
No, out of respect for others, we do not exceed the maximum number of participants. If the date you requested is not available, please book a private tour or contact us, and we'll see if there is anything we can do.
WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THIS TOUR?
Our groups have a maximum of 8 people. If 6 or 7 places are reserved, we exceptionally accept a couple or a family with 1 child to sign up, if we cannot offer them another tour.
CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN FOOD?
No, the guide will take care of everything.
IS THE TOUR SUITABLE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN?
No, the tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
ACCESSIBILITY WHEELCHAIR
Unfortunately, due to the venues of the tastings and the nature of the streets of Paris, wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on our tours.
